Here at BRL Sports, like everyone else we’re counting down the minutes until the NFL season kicks off once again. Now only a handful of hours away until the Packers visit the Seahawks in the season opener, it’s time to try and predict those divisions.
After tackling the AFC, it’s time to predict the National Football Conference (NFC).
New Orleans Saints (11-5)
Atlanta Falcons (10-6)
Carolina Panthers (7-9)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-12)
Drew Brees and new rookie wideout Brandon Brooks could make for a really dangerous partnership. Sean Peyton and that underrated defense will take home another NFC South crown.
The Falcons will not have the meltdown from a year ago. Julio Jones healthy spells danger for every team, but his health could determine this teams playoff chances.
Lost key guys including Steve Smith, who will no doubt be missed. Defense is still pretty good and will win them games if the offense can step up.
Taking a risk by trusting Josh McCown, but if any coach can pull it off it’s Lovie Smith. However, they’re still the worst team in this division, a very strong one at that, but unfortunately the Bucs won’t be good enough this year. I’d put more faith in Mike Glennon.
Seattle Seahawks (13-3)
Arizona Cardinals (11-5)
San Francisco 49ers (10-6)
St Louis Rams (8-8)
Best division in Football, Super Bowl champions with a chance as big as any to get back and repeat. Lost some big defensive guys which pulled Seattle out of some bad situations last year. However, offense will be ready to step up. Beast mode.
Going out on a limb here… The Cardinals will make the playoffs this year and will also finish ahead of the 49ers (yup, I know). Tough tough defense, along with an offense that’ll continue to surprise people.
Lost too many defensive assets. They will win games, no doubt. But this time around it’ll be San Fran who shall fall short… Window closing? Not at all, just not their year. You never know, we could see 3 playoff teams from this division.
Again, another great defense. However, Sam Bradford done for the season means no playoffs. Bradford plays the season, you may be looking at a playoff team. But in this division, you can’t afford to rely on a back up all year long.
There we have it. BRL Sports’s Divisional Prediction done. Few controversial calls? Perhaps. But if one things for sure, we’re all very excited for the season to kickoff once again.
