NHL Updates

– Tomas Tatar nets hat trick and Brad Richards grabs three helpers in Wings’ 4-1 preseason win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

– Calgary Flames defenseman TJ Brodie is set to be out for 3-6 weeks after sustaining a broken hand in a preseason match-up against the Edmonton Oilers

– Islanders name George Mcphee as Special Adviser to General Manager Garth Snow

–  Boston Bruins’ defenseman Dennis Seidenberg is set to have surgery on a herniated disc in his back and is set to be out for up to eight weeks

– Detriot Red Wings legend Gordie Howe visited the Joe Louis Arena for the Wings’ preseason game against the Blackhawks last night. It was the first time Howe had been been seen in the ‘Joe’ since a series of strokes. The last time he attended a game was March 31st, 2013.
